20-year-old Palestinian detainee dies after being shot by Israeli forces

A Palestinian detainee has succumbed to his wounds after being shot by Israeli forces near the centre of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, Wafa news agency is reporting.

20-year-old Musab Al-Eida was shot by Israeli forces stationed at the military checkpoint in Tel Rumeida on Thursday, before detaining him while he was wounded.

His detention at Ofer prison was extended on Sunday, despite his condition.

Palestinian prisoner advocacy groups, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoners Society reported that Al-Eida was pronounced dead at Israel’s Shaare Zedek Hospital.

In a joint statement, the groups denounced the killing as an "attempted field execution".
