Increasing aid reaching Gaza far from enough to avert famine, WFP says
More food aid is reaching Gaza, but it remains far from enough to avert widespread starvation, the World Food Programme (WFP) told Reuters on Thursday.
WFP Executive Director said the organization is currently delivering about 100 aid trucks into Gaza each day, far below the 600 trucks that entered daily during the ceasefire.
A report published Friday by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification warned that around 514,000 people, nearly a quarter of the besieged enclave’s population, are being starved in Gaza City and surrounding areas.
