Netanyahu to hold session on imposing Israeli sovereignty over West Bank
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will hold a session today to discuss imposing Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank, Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth has reported.
Netanyahu's discussion of imposing sovereignty over the West Bank comes as political momentum toward recognising a Palestinian state grows worldwide.
Belgian Authorities on Tuesday said that the nation will recognise the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in September.
Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot has announced that "firm sanctions" will also be imposed against the Israeli government.
In July, French President Emmanuel Macron had said France would recognise a Palestinian state at the UN meeting, which is going to be held from 9 September in New York.
More than a dozen other Western countries have since called on others to do the same.
