13 Palestinians killed by starvation in 24 hours
Thirteen people in Gaza have been killed by starvation, Gaza’s Health Ministry has said. The number includes three children who have died “due to famine and malnutrition”.
The current figures bring the toll of hunger-related deaths to 361, which includes 130 children.
The ministry added that 83 of those deaths, including the deaths of 15 children, had occurred since a global hunger monitor officially announced famine in Gaza on August 22.
At least 63,557 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023, according to the Health Ministry.
Famine was officially declared in Gaza last month by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the UN-backed global hunger monitor. Since 2 March, Israeli authorities have closed Gaza's border crossings, pushing the territory’s 2.4 million population into famine.
