London protesters demand end to ban on Palestine Action group
Protesters gathered in London demanding the government lift its ban on Palestine Action, a group outlawed days after it admitted breaking into an air force base in southern England. Authorities said the raid caused around £7m ($9.3m) in damage to two aircraft.
In Parliament Square, demonstrators surrounded a small group of officers as police made several arrests. Authorities warned that anyone attending the rally would be acting unlawfully and could face detention.
Elsewhere in the capital, hundreds more joined marches in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, urging the UK government to halt arms sales to Israel and take meaningful action.
