Israel says US deal proposal not conveyed in orderly means
We previously reported the US President Donald Trump said that Israel accepted his Gaza deal terms to release all of the captives in Gaza and to end the war, and now it is time for Hamas to accept as well.
Haaretz is now reporting that a source close to Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the US proposal for a deal was not conveyed to Israel in an orderly fashion.
Hamas received the proposal, but Israel is not familiar with its wording, the source said.
Israeli comments came after Axios reported that the White House envoy Steve Witkoff sent a proposal to Hamas through Israeli activist Gershon Baskin.
The report says the proposal includes the release of all 48 Israeli captives in exchange for a ceasefire and the release of 2,500-3,000 Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons.
According to the proposal, as soon as the ceasefire is declared, the negotiations to end the war would immediately begin on the conditions for ending the war, including Israel's demands for Hamas' disarmament and Hamas' demand for a final and complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
