Israeli forces destroy 50 buildings in Gaza in 24 hours
Israeli forces have destroyed at least 50 buildings, while 100 others have been partially damaged in Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours, Civil Defence spokesman in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal has said.
These include high-rise buildings housing thousands of residents and displaced Palestinians.
Israeli forces have deliberately targeted buildings surrounded by displaced persons' tents and shelters, destroying more than 200 tents as a result of the bombing, Basal has said. He described it as a "systematic" policy aimed at intensifying forced displacement.
Civil defence crews in Gaza have received distress calls from citizens trapped under the rubble in the Zarqa area of the Tuffah neighbourhood, after a building was bombed.
