Turkey: Israel embraces terrorism as state policy

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned the attack carried out by Israel against the Hamas negotiation delegation in the Qatari capital Doha on Tuesday, saying that Israel has "adopted expansionist policies in the region and embraces terrorism" as a state policy.

In a statement, the ministry said that targeting Hamas negotiation team while ceasefire negotiations are still ongoing shows that Israel does not aim for peace, but rather seeks to continue the war. 

"With this attack, Qatar—acting as a mediator for the ceasefire negotiations—has now been added to the list of countries targeted by Israel in the region. This is clear evidence that Israel has adopted expansionist policies in the region and embraces terrorism as a state policy," the statement said. 

Israeli air strikes hit Doha, targeting senior Hamas officials who had gathered to discuss the latest US ceasefire proposal for Gaza.

Multiple explosions were heard in the city, with smoke seen rising over the Katara district.

The Israeli military confirmed it had carried out the strikes, saying it targeted Hamas’s senior leadership.
