US says it informed Qatar of Israeli attack, Doha denies being notified

The White House on Tuesday said that Donald Trump had his envoy notify Qatar of an impending attack by Israel, adding that the US president spoke with the leaders of both countries after the strikes, news agency AFP has reported. 

“President Trump immediately directed Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to inform the Qataris of the impending attack, which he did,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters during a briefing.

Qatar denies being warned by the United States before the Israeli attack.
