Pro-Palestine demonstrations halt finish of La Vuelta cycling race in Spain
Spain’s La Vuelta cycling race was halted before the planned finish on Tuesday with demonstrators along the route opposing the participation of the Israel-Premier-Tech team, Anadolu news agency reported.
Pro-Palestine protestors waved the Palestinian flags, chanting slogans including “This is not a war, it is genocide” and “Freedom for Palestine” in Mos Castro de Herville, in the northern Galicia region.
The Israel-Premier-Tech team is owned by Sylvan Adams, a known associate of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Similar protests forced an early end to the 11th stage in Bilbao on 3 September.
