Israeli strikes targeting Hamas hit the wrong building, sources tell MEE

The Israeli strikes targeting Hamas took place while a Hamas meeting was being held, but hit the wrong location, a Hamas source told Middle East Eye.

The exact location of the meeting had been disguised according to standard security procedures, the source told MEE.

The meeting took place near the location that was hit by Israeli strikes.

Qatar has condemned the strikes on its territory and has denied that the US gave them prior warning, saying that the call came after the attack had already taken place.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE were among the Gulf countries condemning the attack, warning of "grave consequences resulting from the Israeli occupation’s persistence in its criminal transgressions".

Countries including Pakistan, the UAE and Turkey have condemned the attack carried out by Israel against the Hamas negotiation delegation in the Qatari capital, calling it an act of aggression and a brazen violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Qatar.
