Qatar’s Shura Council slams Israeli strike on Doha as ‘cowardly crime’
Qatar’s Shura Council has denounced Tuesday’s Israeli strike on Doha, branding it “treacherous, cowardly, and criminal.”
In a statement, the council said the assault was a “flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and security, and a grave threat to the safety of its people, both citizens and residents.”
It warned that the international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable for “repeated crimes,” including what it called a “war of genocide” against Gaza and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories for nearly two years, has emboldened Israel to expand its attacks and commit further atrocities across the region.
The council also condemned comments by the Knesset speaker, who described the strike as “a message for the entire Middle East.”
Reaffirming Qatar’s “firm and principled stance” on Palestine, the council rejected “any attempts aimed at liquidating it, whether through displacement projects, settlement expansion, or imposed solutions that undermine the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.”
