Welcome to our live coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza which is now in its 705th day.
At least 72 Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombardments across Gaza on Wednesday, including 53 people in Gaza City alone. In other developments:

Anger erupted worldwide after Israel targeted senior Hamas officials in Doha, prompting India, France, Russia and others to condemn the strike.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded that Qatar either “expel” Hamas or “bring [them] to justice”, warning of further action if it refused.

Doha denounced his remarks as a “shameful attempt … to justify the cowardly attack that targeted Qatari territory”.

Israeli warplanes also struck Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and surrounding areas, killing at least 35 people, according to the Houthi-run health ministry.

Israel has now bombed six countries since Monday – Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Tunisia and Qatar.
