Trump frustrated with Netanyahu over Doha attacks: report

Two sources close to US President Trump were quoted in Politico as saying that Trump is angry with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu after Israel had bombed the Qatari capital.

The attack killed at least six people, including Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya’s son and office manager.

"Every time they're making progress, it seems like [Netanyahu] bombs someone," a source close to Trump's national security team told Politico. "That's why the president and his aides are so frustrated with Netanyahu."

"The vague notice given was wholly insufficient [and] lacked the specifics needed to adequately warn regional partners," they said.

The source close to the national security team described a phone call that happened between Trump and Netanyahu following the attacks in Doha as “heated”.

A Qatari official told Politico the talks were on hold: "When one party chooses to bomb the mediator and one of the negotiating delegations, what kind of talks can be considered valid?"
