Qatari PM welcomes UNSC statement on Israeli ‘treacherous’ attacks on Doha

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has hailed on Friday the statement issued by the UN Security Council to condemn the Israeli attacks on Hamas leaders in Doha.

“We’re committed to our humanitarian and diplomatic role, and right to protect our sovereignty and security,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a social media post.

All 15 members released a statement expressing “deep regret at the loss of civilian life” and solidarity with Qatar, but without mentioning Israel.

Sheikh Mohammed said Israel’s attack “puts the international community to the test”.
