First Global Sumud Flotilla ship sets sail from Tunisia for Gaza

The first vessel of the Global Sumud Flotilla bound for Gaza has left the Tunisian port of Bizerte.

The remaining ships will gather offshore and set sail for besieged territory.

The flotilla, which consists of over 40 ships with over 800 activists from 44 countries, is carrying food and medical aid towards Gaza with the intention of breaking the Israeli blockade.

Footage circulated online showed volunteers loading supplies on to the vessels ahead of departure.
