Israeli president warns against 'burning bridges' with Arab partners

President Isaac Herzog has cautioned that Israel must not “forsake” its relationships with Arab states, even as leaders gather in Doha in response to Israel’s recent strike in Qatar.

Speaking at a memorial for late Israeli leaders, Herzog stressed that Israel maintains “extensive and significant ties” with several Arab countries, including economic links, according to The Times of Israel.

“They are part of the Western-facing world in which we seek to remain, and in these countries there is also a large and important public supportive of Israel, who yearn to hear our voice,” he said.

Herzog urged continued engagement, saying Israel should act “with purpose and determination” through diplomacy and outreach. “We must not forsake our ties. We must not burn our bridges,” he added.
