Turkish FM blasts Israel ahead of Arab-Islamic summit

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told Al Jazeera in Doha that Israel’s war on Gaza amounts to genocide and warned Arab and Islamic states must unite against its expansionist drive.

“There is an occupation of Palestine and an ongoing genocide in Gaza. Israel is acting with an expansionist mindset,” he said.

Fidan accused Israel of seeking a “Greater Israel” by destabilising countries such as Syria, and criticised Washington for putting its relationship with Israel above all else, calling it damaging to US credibility in the region.

He added that President Erdoğan continues to condemn Israel’s “crimes, killing of civilians and expansionist policies,” warning they threaten global security and the international order.
