Israeli defence minister threatens Houthi leader
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a direct threat to Houthi leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi following a suspected missile launch from Yemen towards Israel.
In a post on the social media platform X, Katz vowed that the Houthi leader would be “sent to … the depths of hell” and that the group would lose control of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.
“Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, your time will come. You will be sent to meet your government plenary and all the eliminated members of the axis of evil who are waiting in the depths of hell,” wrote Katz.
He further declared that the Houthi flag's antisemitic slogan would be replaced by “the Israeli blue-and-white flag that will fly over the capital of a united Yemen.”
The threat follows an Israeli air strike in late August that killed Ahmed al-Rahawi, the prime minister of the Houthi-led government, and several other ministers.
