Israeli military kills youth near Jenin
Wafa news agency is reporting that Israeli forces shot dead a 19-year-old man during a raid on the town of Anzah, near Jenin, in the occupied West Bank.
The sources said the victim, who was identified as Ahmed Jihad Barahmeh, was struck by a bullet in the back and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition before succumbing to his wounds.
Israel’s military has now confirmed the killing, claiming its forces shot the man after he “threw an explosive device” at them.
Israeli forces have intensified raids in the West Bank towns and villages since the start of the war on Gaza, carrying out a mass arrest campaign.
Israeli army attacks have killed more than 1,000 Palestinians, including over 200 children, across the West Bank since October 2023, in addition to attacks by Israeli settlers, according to Al Jazeera.
