Several injured during pro-Palestine demonstration in Italy

Some 10 people were injured during clashes that erupted between police and pro-Palestine protestors on Saturday in northern Italy, news agency ANSA reported.

Protesters showing solidarity with Palestine took to the streets and held demonstrations across Turin, a metropolitan city in the Piedmont region of Italy.

ANSA reported that the police blocked the path of the protesters with water cannons and tear gas. The protestors threw rocks, smoke bombs, and firecrackers at the officers.  

Demonstrations in support of Gaza and the Palestinian population are growing across ports, universities, schools, and public squares, ahead of the national protest scheduled for Oct 4 in Rome.

Protests, which began on Friday in Rome, Milan, Naples and Bologna, spread on Saturday to Florence, Pisa, Ancona, Trieste, Bari, and Alessandria, Anadolu news agency has reported.
