Trump says 'we will get it done' in the Middle East

US President Donald Trump voiced optimism on Sunday about reaching a deal to end the war in Gaza, saying there was “a real chance for greatness in the Middle East,” ahead a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.

Trump did not share details of what a potential ceasefire-for-captives agreement might look like, but Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that senior US officials were engaged in “very complicated” negotiations with both Israeli and Arab counterparts.

“We have a real chance for Greatness in the Middle East. All are on board for something special, first time ever. We will get it done,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

According to administration officials, Trump’s discussions with Netanyahu are aimed at laying out a framework for an agreement.

On Friday, Trump described talks with regional leaders as intense, adding that both Israel and Hamas were aware of the ongoing contacts, which he said would continue “as long as required."
