Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and expand illegal West Bank outposts
According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency, Jewish settlers on Sunday damaged Palestinian-registered vehicles south of Nablus and set up an illegal outpost on land west of Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit.
The outpost, established at dawn after settlers spent the day preparing the site, sits in an area dense with olive trees, endangering the livelihoods of local harvesters.
Israeli settlers have sharply expanded outposts across the West Bank. Last year alone, they built more than 60 – a significant rise from the previous decade’s yearly average of 11, according to Peace Now. These settlements aim to fragment Palestinian territory and undermine a future Palestinian state.
