Qatar says it will meet with Hamas, Turkey today to discuss Gaza plan

Qatar on Tuesday said that a meeting on US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan was going to be held with Hamas and Turkey later today, news agency AFP reported. 

Hamas is studying Trump's Gaza plan "responsibly", Majed al-Ansari, a spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the press. 

Responding to a question on Israel’s apology over the attack on Hamas leaders in Doha, Ansari said that Qatar “is content” with security assurances it has received from the US on this point. 

Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza was unveiled on Monday with a map showing three stages of withdrawal for the Israeli army to be implemented following the release of Israeli captives.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised Israeli forces will not be leaving Gaza, despite references to their withdrawal in the Donald Trump-approved "peace plan".
