Hamas's armed wing says it attacked Israeli soldiers in Gaza City

Hamas’s armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said its fighters attacked Israeli vehicles and soldiers in Gaza City on Monday.

The Palestinian fighters attacked Israeli soldiers who were based in a school in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, the al-Qassam Brigades said. 

Hamas engaged in close range fighting and Palestinian fighters threw explosives into two armored personnel carriers and detonated a bomb against a Merkava tank.

Hamas said Israeli soldiers were killed and wounded in the attack.
