Hamas likely to reject Trump's Gaza plan, says report

Hamas is expected to reject US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, an unnamed official from the group told the BBC.

The proposal, already approved by Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, would disarm Hamas and take Gaza completely out of Palestinian hands.

The official said the deal "serves Israel's interests" and "ignores those of the Palestinian people."

He made it clear that Hamas is not ready to disarm, and that it will not agree to an international force being stationed in the Strip, describing it as a new form of occupation.
