Turkey says Israel's attack on Sumud Flotilla 'act of terrorism'

Turkey has released a statement calling Israel's unlawful interception of vessels in the Sumud Flotilla an act of terrorism. 

“The attack by Israeli forces in international waters against the Global Sumud flotilla, which was on its way to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, is an act of terrorism that constitutes the most serious violation of international law and endangers the lives of innocent civilians,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The Sumud Flotilla comprises at least 45 boats with 497 sailors and 46 nationalities. There are several Turkish activists in the Flotilla.
