Irish lawmaker among those unlawfully detained by Israel in Sumud raid

An Irish Senator is among those illegally detained by Israel in its raid on the Sumud Flotilla. 

The Irish political party Sinn Fein said Senator Chris Andrews had been illegally detained and called on the Irish government to “act now” to “demand the immediate and safe release of Senator Chris Andrews and all Irish citizens”.

“The flotilla is a peaceful humanitarian mission carrying food and aid to Gaza. This violent interception is a blatant violation of international law,” the Sein Fein statement added.
