In case you’re just joining us, here’s what happened as Israel attacked a Gaza aid flotilla:

• Medical sources have told Al Jazeera that at least 17 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since dawn.

• The Israeli government has issued an order for all Palestinians still in Gaza City to leave immediately.

• According to the Global Sumud Flotilla tracker, only three vessels remain operational as Israeli forces have raided the rest.

• Hanan Ashrawi, the veteran Palestinian activist and former PLO executive committee member, has condemned Israel’s assault on the Gaza aid flotilla as a “criminal act of piracy” carried out in international waters.

• Francesca Albanese, the UN special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territory, has criticised the failure of states to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza, where Israel faces accusations of genocide and deliberately starving civilians.

• Pakistan has strongly condemned Israel’s interception of dozens of Gaza-bound boats in the Sumud Flotilla, describing it as a “dastardly attack”.

• Brazil has condemned Israel after its navy intercepted a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, which included several Brazilian nationals and a lawmaker.

• Spain’s labour minister and deputy prime minister, Yolanda Díaz, has condemned Israel’s raid on the Gaza aid flotilla as “a crime against international law” and demanded the immediate release of those detained.
