Trump says he will solve 3,000 year old conflict in Middle East

US President Donald Trump said he could bring peace to the Middle East after "3,000 years," by solving Israel's war on Gaza. 

“It looks like the Middle East could very well be solved after 3,000 years approximately,” Trump said in an interview aired on Thursday. 

“We’re going to have more than Gaza. We’re going to have Gaza plus peace – overall peace. That would be an amazing achievement," he said. 

Israel was only established out of British Mandatory Palestine in 1948, despite Trump's claim that the region has seen 3,000 years of conflict.
