Palestine Action demonstrators tell police: 'Don't arrest us then'

Activists organising a Saturday demonstration in support of banned group Palestine Action have responded to a Metropolitan Police request to halt the protest in the wake of the Manchester synagogue attack.

Writing on X, in response to a warning from police that they would be overstretched while increasing security for Jewish institutions, Defend Our Juries said: "Don't arrest us then."

We are causing no obstruction.
We are committing no act of violence.
We are making no noise.
We are breaching no peace.
We are using nonviolent language.
We are peacefully protesting against UK complicity in genocide.
