Hamas submits response to Trump’s Gaza plan: Al Jazeera

Hamas on Friday submitted its response to US President Donald Trump's plan to mediators, Al Jazeera Arabic reported.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Claire Leavitt said that Hamas must accept US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan or face consequences. 

"Hamas has a chance to accept the plan and move toward peace, or the consequences will be tragic," she said. 

Hamas political bureau member Mohammed Nazzal on Thursday had said the group wants to respond “in a way that serves the interests” of the Palestinian people.

“We are not dealing [with the plan] under the logic that time is a sword pointed at our neck,” Nazza said, signalling that the group was still deliberating. 

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Friday said the 20-point plan unveiled by Trump does not match the draft prepared by Muslim-majority states. Addressing parliament, Dar said alterations had been made to the original proposal.
