Spanish Gaza flotilla activists report rights violation by Israeli authorities
Spanish activists of the Gaza humanitarian aid flotilla on Monday alleged mistreatment and violation of rights by Israeli authorities, news agency Reuters reported.
"Any time that one of us called a police officer, we risked seven or more fully armed people entering our cell, as they did to mine, pointing weapons at our heads, with dogs ready to attack us, and being dragged on the floor. This happened on a daily basis," the activists said.
The activists made the allegations after arriving in Madrid.
Some 10 Tunisian activists received a hero’s welcome as they arrived in Tunis, the report said.
Earlier, Sweden's Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said that allegations regarding the abusive treatment of climate activist Greta Thunberg are "very serious" if confirmed.
Media reports claimed that Thunberg was mistreated by Israeli authorities, including being forced to pose for a photo with an Israeli flag.
