Will never recognise Israel, says Iran

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araqchi, on Saturday said the country will never recognise Israel, a "regime that has committed genocide and killed children", news agency Reuters reported. 

"Iran will never recognise an occupied regime that has committed genocide and killed children," Araqchi told Iranian state television.

Araqchi said the suggestion that Iran could normalise relations with Israel was "wishful thinking."

Late last month, Trump said, "Who knows, maybe even Iran can get in there," referring to the Abraham Accords, an agreement signed during Trump's first term under which Israel normalised diplomatic relations with four Muslim-majority nations.
