More than 500 tonnes of food enter Gaza daily since ceasefire, but still more needed, says WFP

The UN World Food Programme (WFP) said on Friday that an average of 560 tonnes of food were brought into Gaza everyday since the ceasefire began, but more than these amounts is needed to feed the Palestinians.

“We’re still below what we need, but we’re getting there… The ceasefire has opened a narrow window of opportunity, and WFP is moving very quickly and swiftly to scale up food assistance,” WFP spokesperson Abeer Etefa told reporters in Geneva.

Earlier today, the UN agency said it has a three-month food supply to feed the Strip.
