Turkey says Israel is breaking Gaza ceasefire, calls for stronger action
Turkey has accused Israel of violating the Gaza ceasefire and urged the United States and other countries to take stronger measures, including sanctions or halting arms sales.
Speaking to reporters on his return flight from Oman, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Hamas has been complying with the agreement.
“Gaza is a test for the Islamic world. God willing, we will pass this test with flying colours and take our place alongside our brothers and sisters in the strongest possible way,” he said, adding that Turkiye is ready to support the planned Gaza task force in any way needed.
Recent reports indicate that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out Turkish personnel on the ground in Gaza. Erdogan has frequently condemned Israel since the war began, further straining bilateral relations.
