Israeli warplanes bomb Khan Younis, tanks intensify shelling Gaza neighbourhoods

Israeli warplanes on Tuesday bombed Khan Younis as its tanks targeted Gaza, Al-Aqsa Satellite Channel reported. The report said that Israeli forces opened fire on citizens' homes east of Gaza City.

The forces detonated explosives at several residential buildings, east of Gaza City, Al Jazeera Arabic reported. Israeli forces also shelled areas north-east of Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza with artillery. 

The Palestinian Information Centre said that "Israeli occupation artillery is shelling the eastern areas of the Shuja'iyya and Tuffah neighbourhoods, east of Gaza City."

Al-Aqsa TV reported that "the occupation's artillery and military vehicles have continued their heavy bombardment of the eastern neighbourhoods of Gaza City since midnight."

The channel added that Israeli artillery shelling targeted areas of Juhr al-Dik, coinciding with heavy gunfire from army vehicles east of al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip. Similar reports of heavy shelling came from the eastern areas of the Mughraqa region in the central Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian news agency Safa reported that Israeli aircraft attacked areas east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
