Israel returns mutilated Palestinian bodies to Gaza

Gaza’s Health Ministry says the bodies handed over by Israel under the ceasefire deal were so badly mutilated they could barely be identified.

An official overseeing the process told Al Jazeera that one of the bodies was returned without a head, describing the condition of the remains as “horrific”.

Health officials say identifying the victims has become nearly impossible as Israel continues to block the entry of DNA testing equipment into Gaza.

The ministry accused Israel of showing “complete disregard for human dignity”, saying the state of the returned bodies exposes the brutality Palestinians have endured under Israeli occupation and siege.
