US shares draft resolution on Gaza with UN Security Council
The US officially shared the draft resolution on Gaza with the UN Security Council on Thursday, Al Jazeera Arabic reported, citing diplomatic sources.
The report said that the resolution calls for the formation of a temporary international force in Gaza, which would work with Israel and Egypt, in addition to the establishment of a reconstruction fund by the World Bank.
The draft resolution also mentions the establishment of a Peace Council as a transitional body for reconstruction and aid management.
The US Ambassador to the United Nations met with elected Security Council members to discuss the draft. The meeting also included representatives from Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates.
