Morning update

Morning update

Good morning Middle East Eye readers,

Here are the latest updates:

  • The UN Security Council is set to vote Monday on a US-drafted resolution bolstering Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan, especially the deployment of an international force.

  •  Al Jazeera is reporting heavy gunfire from Israeli helicopters behind the yellow line east of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.

  • Israeli military carried out six air strikes on the eastern areas of Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Information Centre.

  • Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said the amendments to the draft US resolution don't serve stability in the Gaza Strip, warning that the proposal effectively replaces Israeli occupation with a different form of international trusteeship.

  • The government media office in Gaza said Israel continues its "starvation policy" by preventing the entry of basic food supplies and allowing the passage of luxury goods.
