Israel's Knesset passes law to cut water and electricity to UN agency helping Palestinians
Israel's Knesset overwhelmingly approved the first reading of a government bill on Wednesday to cut water and electricity to facilities owned or operated by United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (Unrwa).
The bill also grants Israeli authorities to take control of lands registered with the Israel Land Authority and seize poroperties used by Unrwa.
The bill was referred to the relevant Knesset committee for further consideration.
Israel has banned Unrwa from the occupied West Bank and Gaza since October 2024.
