Israel receives 1,000th military cargo plane in US-backed weapons air bridge
The Israeli ministry of defence on Thursday said that the 1,000th cargo plane arrived at the Ben Gurion Airport as part of the air bridge that has been ongoing since 7 October 2023 to support the country with military equipment.
Israeli army led transcontinental logistical transfers of an unprecedented scale in Israel’s history, with the aim of supporting all the current and future military needs, the ministry said.
"So far, more than 120,000 tons of military equipment, ammunition, combat equipment, and protective gear have been brought in via 1,000 aircraft and about 150 ships," it said.
The ministry said that these operations are the result of cooperation with the United States and Germany, through which advanced ammunition, weapons, armoured vehicles, medical equipment, communication systems, and personal protection equipment were purchased and transferred.
