Civil defense warn of heavy storms amid a shortage in aid and fuel
Civil Defense in Gaza warned that the strip's population are expected to face "heavy rain and strong winds" amid a lack of basic necessities and the continued suffering from the effects of war.
In a press release from the General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, it noted that it has mobilised its teams and limited resources to address the "negative impacts of this storm," particularly in the case of displaced families.
It added that the issue of the fuel crisis has resurfaced, urging international organisations to intervene and allow in fuel aid.
"Ignoring this urgent intervention will only worsen the suffering of citizens, particularly in the camps, and will leave them vulnerable to flooding from rainwater and potentially even from high tides," it said, adding that the fuel crisis can also impact the recovering of bodies remained underneath the rubble.
