Report: Israeli assassination of Hezbollah military commander confirmed

A Lebanese security source told Al Jazeera that Israel assassinated the military commander in Hezbollah, Haitham al-Tabatabai, in the Israeli strike on Beirut's southern suburbs.

Meanwhile, Israel's Channel 12, citing a senior security source, reported that the targeting was successful.

The attack hit an apartment building in the densely populated Haret Hreik area of Dahiyeh, the southern suburbs of the city.
