Unrwa says Israeli pressure, funding shortfall harms air operations in Gaza
United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (Unrwa) media advisor Adnan Abu Hasna on Sunday said that the deficit in its budget has impacted its services to millions of refugees in Gaza as Israel's policy of starvation continues.
The challenges resulting from Israeli pressures, including the law banning the agency, have left a financial deficit from now until the first quarter of next year, estimated at about $200 million, Al Jazeera quoted Hasna as saying.
This budget is allocated for the salaries of more than 30,000 employees in all areas of Unrwa operations in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
