Evening recap

Evening recap

Our live blog will shortly be closing until tomorrow morning.

Here are the day's key developments:

Israel is carrying out heavy overnight strikes on parts of Gaza City in the north, and Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip, local media are reporting. Israel has already violated the 10 October ceasefire more than 500 times.

- Israeli forces launched an extensive military assault on the northern occupied West Bank city of Tubas on Wednesday. Troops stormed Palestinian homes in the early morning hours in the towns of Tammun, Tayasir and Aqaba, turning several houses into temporary military barracks. Residents were forcibly removed from their homes.

- A wounded Palestinian man was arrested from an ambulance by Israeli soldiers at the gates of Tammun, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said. Mohammad Ala'a Bani Odeh had only recently been released in the captive exchange negotiated by Hamas.

- A Trump administration official confirmed reports that it is working on a plan to build housing for thousands of "screened" Palestinians behind the so-called yellow line in Gaza, which is occupied by Israeli troops, according to a report by The New York Times published on Wednesday.

- The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) said that on 24 and 25 November, its partners in Gaza managed to distribute 5,328 tarpaulins to 1,776 households after heavy rains and wind flooded and destroyed thousands of displacement tents over the past week.
