UN says 95,000 Palestinians hit by intensifying Israeli operations in northern West Bank

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) said in its weekly briefing that Israeli military operations in the northern West Bank—particularly in Jenin and Tubas—affected more than 95,000 Palestinians over the past week.

According to the agency, nearly half of the 227 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers between 1 January and 1 December were from the Jenin and Nablus governorates, with four fatalities recorded in the last week alone.

Ocha also reported a sharp rise in settler violence, documenting 1,680 attacks across more than 270 Palestinian communities since the start of the year, averaging five incidents per day.

The ongoing olive harvest has been particularly targeted, with 178 settler assaults reported in October and November across 88 communities, underscoring what the agency described as “widespread” and persistent violence.
