Reform UK's treasurer dined with Epstein associate, contacted Ghislaine Maxwell
Reform UK treasurer Nick Candy met Jeffrey Epstein associate Sarah Kellen in 2004 and was in touch with Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison sentence in the US for child sex trafficking, newly released files reveal.
The meetings happened before financier Epstein was convicted of child sex offences in 2008, and long before Maxwell was convicted in 2021 of recruiting and grooming girls for sexual encounters.
Candy, a billionaire property developer, is a former Conservative Party donor who joined Nigel Farage's Reform before the July 2024 election and donated £1m ($1.37m) to the party.
He became Reform's honorary treasurer in December 2024.
The latest tranche of released Epstein files shows a message sent to Candy in late 2004 by an unidentified person (whose email address is redacted in the file), saying: "Hey Nick, it's [redacted], Ghislaine Maxwell's friend.
"We had dinner on Halloween.... I know, you probably never knew my surname. Hope all is well and you are having many exciting adventures."
In his reply, Candy appears to be addressing Sarah Kellen, an American interior designer and associate of Epstein.
Kellen was in her early 20s when she met Epstein, and she was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 2008 plea deal in which Epstein pleaded guilty to procuring a child for prostitution.
But her legal representatives have said Kellen was one of Epstein's victims.
Candy said in his email that he "was in the Carribean for a week for Thanksgiving". He said that"it would be very nice to catch up".
'Do you have Ghislaine's e-mail address?'
Kellen emailed Candy: "So Ghislaine was very disappointed that you didn’t tell her you were coming into town! [Redacted] in Palm Beach now and hoping to be back in the city Thursday.
"I will let you know as soon as it’s set and we’ll set a night to have dinner. speak to you soon! Sarah".
Candy asked: "Do you have Ghislaine's e-mail address?"
He said in another email: "What are your telephone numbers?" Candy gave her his own number and said: "I am in New york from Thursday 9th december for 4 days."
Kellen replied saying: "Great! Unfortunately I won't know for sure if I will be in NY during that time until that week; the nature of the job". She gave Candy her phone number and said: "Hopefully I'll be seeing you soon", signing off as Sarah.
In a later email, Candy said: "I am now less hectic as I closed on our deal and we bought one of the best buildings in London at the end of Sloane Street in Knightsbridge."
Kellen responded: "Congrats on that! I was on Jeffrey's island in the US Virgin islands, I had a very nice relaxing time, loads of very much needed sleep, and of course, I always behave myself!
"Careful with the party scene, it will suck you in and take over! [Redacted] just trying to organize myself with the whole holiday thing coming up; always inevitably a crazy time of year.
"Hopefully it will work out for us to see each other."
There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on Candy's part. MEE has contacted Reform and invited both the party and Candy himself to comment.
