Supreme Court will allow appeal hearing over Palestine Action ban

The co-founder of Palestine Action has been granted permission to challenge the Home Office's decision to ban the direct action group as a terrorist organisation.

The UK proscribed the group in July 2025 and since then its co-founder Huda Ammori has fought to overturn the decision.

In June, the Court of Appeal quashed a High Court ruling which found the ban to be unlawful.

A five-strong panel of judges ruled that the government's move to ban the group "struck a fair balance" between the individual's rights to speech and freedom of assembly and the interests of "national security".
