Iranian plan to attack Ukraine canceled after Kyiv apology

Iran was set to carry out attacks in Ukraine before Kyiv had issued an apology, a top military adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said on Monday. 

According to Mohsen Rezaei during an interview with state television, Tehran's armed forces had completed preparations for the strikes before the plan was scrapped.

The operation came after Ukraine was accused of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea in late July, killing one crew member.
